HOS rule summaries on this site are simplified for planning education. They do not represent the complete regulatory text and do not account for all operation types, exceptions, or carrier-specific conditions. The current official HOS rules are published by FMCSA at fmcsa.dot.gov. Carriers and drivers should rely on the current official rule language, their ELD, and qualified compliance guidance for compliance decisions — not on planning summaries.
Regulatory rules change. FMCSA updates HOS guidance, ELD requirements, and safety programs on a schedule that this site cannot guarantee to track in real time. Content on this site is reviewed on the schedule described in the methodology page — but between review cycles, the current FMCSA source should be treated as authoritative over any summary on this site.

Weather planning content on this site is educational — it explains how to think about weather-related decisions before a trip, not what current conditions are or what specific routing decisions to make.
